Terms of Service
Last updated: 25 May 2026
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of Chorus Club, operated by Chorus Club Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use Chorus Club. Questions? Email chris@chorus.club.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to use Chorus Club. Chorus Club is an 18+ platform. By registering you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. Accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 will be terminated.
By registering you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are not prohibited from using Chorus Club under any applicable law.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at chris@chorus.club if you suspect unauthorised access.
You may not create accounts on behalf of others, operate multiple accounts to gain unfair voting advantage, or share your account with others.
4. Submitting performances
4.1 What you can submit
You may submit original musical performances in response to Chorus Club JAM challenges. Submissions must be:
- Audio or video recordings of your own live or recorded playing or singing.
- Performed over the official Chorus Club backing track for that JAM.
- Your own performance - you must be the performer in the recording.
- Free from third-party copyrighted material beyond the Chorus Club-provided backing track.
- Within the file size limit (currently 100 MB) and supported formats.
4.2 What you may not submit
- Content you do not have the right to share.
- AI-generated musical performances presented as your own playing.
- Content that is offensive, defamatory, sexually explicit or otherwise unlawful.
- Spam, test uploads, or recordings designed to manipulate the AI scoring system.
4.3 AI scoring and the quality gate
All submissions are automatically analysed by AI. Submissions that score below our quality threshold (currently 65/100) are not published to the public leaderboard. You receive private feedback regardless of your score. You may re-record and resubmit.
We reserve the right to manually review and override AI scores, including publishing borderline submissions or removing submissions that violate these terms.
5. Intellectual property
5.1 Your content
You retain ownership of your performance recordings. By submitting content to Chorus Club you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:
- Store and display your submission on the Chorus Club platform.
- Show your submission to other users for voting purposes.
- Use clips or highlights in promotional materials for Chorus Club (we will credit you).
This licence ends when you delete your submission or your account, except where your content appears in published JAM results or highlight reels, where it may be retained for historical record.
5.2 Backing tracks
The backing tracks provided for each JAM are either licensed to or owned by Chorus Club. You may use them only for the purpose of submitting a performance to that JAM. You may not redistribute, re-record, or use them for commercial purposes outside the platform.
5.3 Chorus Club content
The Chorus Club platform, branding, design, and all content we produce is owned by or licensed to Chorus Club Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, or use any of it without our written permission.
6. Voting
Votes are how the community surfaces the best performances. To keep this fair:
- Each user may cast one vote per submission.
- Coordinated vote manipulation - including vote exchanges or bot voting - is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account suspension.
- We reserve the right to remove votes and adjust leaderboard positions where manipulation is detected.
7. Live performance prizes
Where a JAM offers a live performance slot as a prize, the following applies:
- The prize is awarded to the top-ranked performer on the leaderboard at JAM close, subject to the conditions below.
- You must be available to perform at the specified venue, date and time. If you cannot attend, the prize passes to the next eligible performer.
- You must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for a live performance prize (all Chorus Club members are 18+).
- Chorus Club and the venue partner reserve the right to disqualify submissions found to violate these terms.
- No cash alternative is available for live performance prizes.
- Travel and accommodation costs are not included unless expressly stated in the specific JAM description.
8. Community standards
Chorus Club is a community built around a love of music. We expect everyone to be respectful. The following behaviour may result in account suspension or termination:
- Harassment or abuse of other members, staff or artists.
- Posting offensive, hateful or discriminatory content.
- Impersonating another person or Chorus Club staff.
- Any activity that disrupts the platform or other users' experience.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice in serious cases. If your account is terminated in error, contact chris@chorus.club.
10. User warranties and indemnity
By submitting content to Chorus Club, you warrant that:
- You are the sole performer and, where applicable, creator of the content you upload.
- Your content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, including copyright in any underlying composition, recording, sample, or melody.
- You have all necessary rights, licences, and consents to submit the content and to grant Chorus Club the licence described in section 5.
- Your content complies with all applicable laws.
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Chorus Club Ltd, its directors, employees and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your content; (b) your breach of these terms; or (c) any third-party claim that your content infringes their rights.
This indemnity survives termination of your account.
11. Copyright takedown notices
We respect intellectual property rights and respond promptly to valid takedown notices under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and applicable regulations.
If you believe content on Chorus Club infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to chris@chorus.club including: (a) identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed; (b) identification of the specific content on the platform and its URL; (c) your contact details; (d) a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorised; and (e) a statement that the information in your notice is accurate.
We will remove or disable access to the reported content promptly upon receipt of a valid notice and will notify the user who uploaded it. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Chorus Club is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that the platform will be available at all times, error-free, or that AI scores will be perfectly accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chorus Club Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
